Invitation to PSBI EXPO 2022
MMRI PAS will be participating in this year’s PACTT SCIENCE BUSINESS INNOVATION EXPO 2022www.psbi.pl, which is being held on 18-19 May. The event is intended for entrepreneurs and for the first time it will be attended by universities and research institutes which will present their offer of their technologies and services. What’s more, the investment funds participation will enable the visitors to check the offer of financing the implementation of technology to industry. It is the first initiative of this kind in Poland as it combines the fair of inventions and the forum of knowledge and experience exchange which is aimed at Polish entrepreneurs.
At this year’s PACTT SCIENCE BUSINESS INNOVATION EXPO 2022, MMRI PAS shall present its range of activities with the emphasis on such areas as:
Laboratory research services:
- maintenance of animals and animals models in the experiment in a higher zoo-hygienic standard including surgical procedures, immunisation and sample collection
- assessment of cytotoxicity of compounds on human and animal cell lines
- small animal magnetic resonance imaging in a higher zoo-hygienic standard
- microscopic imaging: electron microscopy, fluorescence and confocal, super-resolution techniques, confocal endoscopy, laser microdissection
and soon! - advanced biological imaging in vivo using bioluminescence and fluorescence methods as well as preclinical research (pharmacodynamics, cytotoxicity) of medicinal products in GLP standard
- manufacturing of advanced therapy pharmaceuticals in accordance with the GMP (Good Medical Practice) standard
We will also say more about:
- breeding of animal models, small rodents, of various genetic status (basic and genetically modified)
- renting the laboratory and its equipment for research on animal models in vitro or in vivo
As an absolute novelty in our Institute, we will present the option of obtaining MMRI PAS guarantee trademark by entrepreneurs and industrialists. The trademark will be granted after MMRI PAS has conducted research on commercial products and methods commissioned by external entities.
We are inviting you to MMRI PAS promoting stall in Lodz on 18 and 19 May at PACTT SCIENCE BUSINESS INNOVATION EXPO 2022

„Folia Neuropathologica” in Termedia
The Termedia portal has published an article entitled "Alterations in the transcriptional profile of genes related to glutamatergic signalling in animal models of Alzheimer’s disease. The effect of fingolimod", which was published in the "Folia Neuropathologica" journal issued by MMRI PAS together wiht the Association of Polish Neuropathologists. Its authors are 4 scientists from our Institute: Grzegorz Sulkowski PhD, Przemyslaw Leonard Wencel PhD, Beata Dabrowska-Bouta PhD, prof. Lidia Struzynska PhD and prof. Robert Strosznajder PhD.
A glutaminergic system dysfunction has been reported to be involved in the pathomechanism of the Alzheimer’s Disease. The study analysed the transcriptional profile of the genes related to the glutaminergic system homeostasis and the effect of fingolimod in the animal model of this disease. Genes encoding glutamate membrane-bound and vesicular transporters as well as ionotropic and metabotropic receptors were also analysed.

„Folia Neuropathologica” in Termedia
Termedia has released recently the article published by 4 scientists from our Institute: Anna Sarnowska MD, PhD, DSc, Magdalena Chodkowska MSc, Anna Figiel-Dąbrowska MSc and Monika Sypecka MSc, which appeared in the "Folia Neuropathologica" journal published by MMRI PAS together with the Association of Polish Neuropathologists. The authors of the manuscript described their own preclinical and clinical experiences and compared them with the results of other scientists working with mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSC). In the article, the authors analyzed the factors that could increase the effectiveness of MSC-based therapy in patients with central nervous system disorders.
