Research equipment
• 7T Biospec 70/30 MR scanner (Bruker). This system is dedicated for small laboratory animals (preferably mice and rats) but could also be used for examination of ex vivo tissues or samples of materials. Max gradient value: 300mT/m; detects: 1H, 3Li, 3He, 13C, 9F, 11Na, 15P, 129Xe; bore diameter: 310 mm; free access for imaging: 154 mm.
• A wide range of MR coils: volumetric transmit-receive coils (including double tuned coil 1H/13C); surface receive-only coils (1H, 31P, 129Xe, 13C, 3He); mouse brain and rat brain dedicated surface array coils; small circular surface coils. We also build custom receive coils for new research applications.
• System for monitoring of the physiological signals during the MR experiment that enable MR signal gating (SA Instruments). The system enables online monitoring and recording of ECG, breathing rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature.
• In-house equipment for small animal experiments include: surgery microscope, stereotaxic apparatus, isoflurane vaporizers and MR-compatible monitoring and gating system and stand-alone pulse oximeter.
• Our in-house animal room is equipped with individually ventilated cages system (IVC) as well as biosafety cabinets with laminar flow. The laboratory is prepared to maintain high hygienic standards, including housing of immunodeficient animals.
• Experimental optical coherence tomography (OCT) system.
