Rare diseases - conference
We cordially invite you to participate in a free conference on rare diseases: "Diseases you can't see."
The scientific conference and workshop session will be held online on February 28th and March 1st.
This event is organized for the fifth time on the occasion of the World Rare Disease Day. This year, our Institute joined the group of co-organizers: the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Sciences, the EB Polska Foundation, the Institute of Mother and Child and the Polish Biochemical Society.

„Folia Neuropathologica” in Termedia

Special award for prof. L. Bużańska
Director of IMDiK PAN prof. Leonora Bużańska awarded with "30th Anniversary IDOL"
by the "Chance for the Blind" Foundation
The awards were presented on Monday, January 10, during the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the “Chance for the Blind” Foundation at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Prof. Leonora Bużańska is a founding member of the Founders' Council and has been substantively supporting the Foundation since its establishment.
The "IDOL of Chance the Blind Foundation” award is aimed at people and institutions supporting the blind and partially sighted and adapting their activities to the needs of people with visual disabilities - to those "who are guided by the good of others, and dedicated to support the blind. Professor Bużańska was awarded with special jubilee edition of IDOL – the "IDOL OF THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY" – it’s a special distinction, and prof. Bużańska said: "I am honored with this unique distinction awarded by those whose work and commitment I appreciate and admire. The "Chance for the Blind" Foundation is made up of people who understand the needs of blind and partially sighted people, therefore their actions really improve the quality of life of people supported by the Foundation in its various aspects. "
About the Foundation
The Foundation was established in 1992 on the initiative of blind people and their sighted friends. The Foundation's activities consist in supporting people who have lost their eyesight, and medicine gives them no hope of improving their situation. The activities of the Foundation include, among others, the organization of workshops and trainings where participants receive tools and tips so that they can lead an active and successful life. The Foundation also offers textbooks on modern rehabilitation and organizes the world's largest international conference, REHA FOR THE BLIND IN POLAND, attended annually by several thousand people from around the world.

MMRI PAS - member of PACTT
Mossakowski Medical Research Institute PAS announced the 81st member of The Polish Association of Centers for Technology Transfer (PACTT.pl)
The Polish Association of Centers for Technology Transfer (PACTT.pl) is a voluntary association of representative units of Polish universities responsible for the protection, management and commercialization of university Intellectual Property (IP).
PACTT goals:
- Integration of the professional environment dealing with the knowledge and technology transfer in academic ecosystem.
- Exchange of knowledge, experience, standards and good practices.
- Development of technology transfer professionals.
- Cooperation in the field of commercialization of research results.
- Joint representation of the members of PACTT.pl before public administration bodies, employers' associations and other entities operating toward innovation and cooperation between science and business. This representation applies, in particular, to such actions as: initiating pro-innovation activities of national character, preparing and giving opinions on legal changes and issuing opinions on strategic documents and actions taken by authorized bodies in the area of national innovation policy.

OPUS 21 and PRELUDIUM 20 - record edition for MMRI PAS
In the June edition of the National Science Center OPUS 21 and PRELUDIUM 20 calls, employees of MMRI PAS were awarded with 10 research grants - this is the best result achieved in a single grant recruitment in the history of our Institute.
Our success rate is also impressive - while the average overall success rate in both calls was approx. 20% - our Institute's rate is as high as 35%!
