Research profile:
• Searching for therapeutic strategies in brain ischemia, mainly by induction of the tolerance to ischemic insults with pre- or post-conditioning (subjecting the brain before or shortly after the insult to sub-injurious factors).
• Studies on the pharmacologically-induced neuroprotection and brain tolerance to ischemia.
• Investigation of the role of selected environmental toxins in mechanisms of neurodegeneration and their effect on brain developmental disorders.
• Studies on the molecular mechanisms of memory consolidation and reconsolidation.
